    Waiting To Skate..

This another of my first photographs with my new camera. I also did this one at the First Night Festivities here in SLC.
These people were waiting in line to ice skate.
What are your thoughts about this one?
    Thanks!

    Re: Waiting To Skate..

    Hi Brian,

Cool shot! I liked it before, but now that I know what the people are doing, I like it more. However, I think it would be a better shot if it were easier to tell what the people are doing...like if there was a sign at the head of the line or something. I realize there may not have been a sign, but that's the only thing I can think of to improve this (IMO). I like the composition, otherwise. I think the silhouetted people look good. I'm sure they have a little more detail in print than we can see here, too.

I think the silhouetted people standing in line in front of the lighted trees makes a very wintery appealing night scene. Paul makes a good point about having a sign or something there indicating what this is all about, but I don't think it's crucial. I would have liked to see the crop opened up a bit more.
