WA scenery

I took these pictures recently out in WA on a surprisingly clear, beautiful winter day. I was blown away how clearly I could see the mountains. (They're usually behind tons of clouds) I think the pics turned out nicely. The 3rd one was shot through a window at the airport. Too bad you can see the glare, but the sky was still so gorgeous I had to capture it. I'd appreciate any feedback from those more experienced. Thanks.

In all, a lovely set of shots, i'll start from the bottom up. By the way, these are only my opinions and views, and i am sure others may say to the contrary, so PLEASE don't feel down heartened in any way, as they are a good set of shots..

Firstly the 3rd Photo at the bottom - you might be able to remove most of the glare through photoshop, and i'd probably crop the bottom part to the top of the road in line with the box shaped object. Otherwise a lovely photo.

2nd Photo - Although the use of trees to the corners/edges of photos can produce good results, with this one to me it distracts the eye away from the beautiful image of the snow topped mountains, if i was shooting this i would have stood a little to the left. I have found that if the object is not too far away, then the use of trees works wonderfully, but when it is far away, my eye is drawn to the closer object.

1st photo (top one) - My favourite of the three, but again i would crop the image slightly from the botoom, to the top of the shadow (in line with the hedge) produced by the tree behind you, or try and remove it through photoshop

All in all, with a little touch up you have 3 wonderful photos. Keep shooting and posting!!

Thanks for the comments. No worrys about me taking it the wrong way, I'm looking for honest feedback. :-) The top one is my favorite also. On the 2nd one, I wasn't sure about including those tree branches. I see what you mean about it being too distracting. So the trees work better on the top one because they are closer to the main subject? I took many of that top shot, some with the trees only on one side and some with more trees on both sides. This one was my favorite of those.

Hey Jeth----great shots, although I have to agree with polopaul. He pretty much said what I was going to say. I'd love to be able to get out in that environment though. Lucky you!

yes, washington (my homeland) is a very pretty place indeed. And on bright sunny days its hard to capture the full depth and color of the mountains, though i think yours turned out pretty good (ha, you should see some of mine )

Though the last one... i dont know. I know what its like when you see something drop dead gorgeous and you have to take a picture. Maybe if you cropped off the runway a bit it would help. The sky just seems a tad overexposed (it would be overexposed wouldnt it? i get so confused with the two terms)

Last thing you need to do is Unsharpen Masking on the images, especially the first one. If you turn the contrast up a little as well you might notice a difference as well with the image.

Ok, thanks for the tip! I'm going to try to play with these a bit and try the cropping, too.

Yep, I can't ignore the beauty of the mountains. :-) I live in downtown Chicago, so I only see this sort of thing when I visit out west. But as I mentioned, it's usually very overcast and I've never gotten such nice shots before.
