What a great find! Yes, eerie is right.
I would like to see the image shifted to the right to put the head more off-center and towards the left edge of the frame a little. I think it may give it more tension and fill the frame with more of the dark body.
The nose drop is a nice touch. Perhaps a second or two later would have allowed the drop to be just about ready to fall off. I know, easy to critique now verses seeing all that when it was actually happening![]()
And I like how the out of focus highlight just behind the beak tip allows the beak to be nicely outlined.
