    Voyager

    Hi all

Something a little different here. I appreciate that 99.9% of the time, a critique is asked for a stand-alone image. However, this time it is part of an AV (slide-tape type of thing).

This is part of an AV I am working on about the Voyager probes. The first part (which I have not begun yet) will be about the project itself, with archive photos.

This second part which I offer here is sort of a 'fly past'. It was all made in photoshop from various textures I have photographed.

The questions are: Is it effective? How ought I to make it more effective? It is very much a work in progress.

It takes about 3 1/2 minutes to watch and can be found at:

If anyone takes the time to have a look, it would be much appreciated. You will need your speakers on.

    Cheers

    Re: Voyager

Composition is good. Contrast is good. Wiz of Oz music? ... It works, though. I would choose a bolder font. I would somehow add more dynamics to it, alas, am not sure how to. Overall the composition of all the elements is good and only requires some additional twist to achieve the suggestion above.

PS - Still transmitting? I haven't heard anything on V'ger, err Voyager in awhile.

Great idea, but things seem a bit static, maybe some zooming in on the images to give the effect of movement.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

    Re: Voyager

Thanks guys so far. As I said, it is a work in progress. With these things I tend to work at getting the right images and getting the timing right. That is more or less where I am now. Then (the next step) I work on more sophisticated transitions, including zooms etc (I agree that it needs a little more dynamism - a judicious use of zoom will help although it is possible to overdo it). I am not happy with Neptune yet either.

GB1 - I wanted to avoid obvious music (Planet Suite etc)

    Cheers

Mike I think it's fine. I thought Neptune was Saturn until I read different. I also thought the music was fine. Here is a list of music that was put on Voyager as a greeting from Earth to others.

I think it was Gods plan to keep other life forms far enough away from each other so contact wasn't possible, but that's a personal thing. I did enjoy it.
