    Virg's Barber Shop

The place looks really bad. It looks abandoned, but apparantly still open, judging by the sign in the window. There are two versions.....color and B&W. Do either work alright? Can they be improved? How so?
    Thanks,
    John

    Re: Virg's Barber Shop

I like the color version. I'd love to find such a place to shoot. The missing barber pole adds even more interest.
I'm not good enough to know how but if you could lighten up the bottom, especially on the left so the shovels aren't lost I think it would help.
Maybe a smaller aperture as the focus seems quite shallow.
    Keep Shooting!

I also feel it's a great subject. The only thing that bothers me compositionally wise is the way the VIRG'S text is so close to the top edge. Don't know for sure but I think the dark bottom area adds to the shot. -GB

    Thanks guys.
GB, I thought about leaving a little more to the top of the shot, but didn't like what I was seeing in pp, so I took the conservative approach.
