Re: Views of the Urban Forest

Hi Don, I really like the second shot. I'm really into storm shots of all kinds. The varying conditions throughout the shot and then the extremely sharp line in the clouds on the right really strike a sharp contrast in the photo that captures my attention greatly. Nice job.

However, I can't say the same for the first photo. To me....too much clutter. You have all the leafless trees with a leading line to a blown out section at the bottom middle and a nice bright blue sky at the top left. All I can ask is, what's the subject? I'm sorry, I just don't get it, but I do appreciate your effort.

Re: Views of the Urban Forest

The second image is the one.

Looking at the first image my eye was immediately drawn out of the bottom of the frame looking for the street. I don't find anything to focus on in the image.

The second image captured my attention with the placement of the bright area in the bottom center than I started to take in the details. Great use of B&W and the image is nicely split into 3 strong elements; the trees, the clouds and the dark overhead.

    Killer!
    No, I DON'T need that.
