    The view from the saddle.

A lot of folks here don't know that I am the moderator of the Commuting/Touring Forum of RoadBikeReview.

I take a lot of pic while riding-in other words I am pedaling while I took these (the wife ain't about to stop for me to take a pic). Usually I just level and crop the images before posting.

From a ride late fall, what do you think?

I like the first two but feel the shadows are to heavy in the last. The rider is to dark. A little fill light might help.

Re: The view from the saddle.

Nice biking photos! I agree that the last one could use a bit of help. Maybe just brightening her jacket would do the trick, though if it were the first photo I'd looked at and knew nothing else, I might not pick up that it was a bike rider at first.

Considering the fact that you were riding and snapping away at the same time, I think the images are pretty good. Not taking that into consideration, however leaves these looking like simple snapshots.
I think it is a great thing that you and the wife ride together. Also, it is interesting to learn that you are active in and moderate the Road Bike Review touring forum.

I often find myself wondering that too.

I like the first two also. Maybe if you have waited a second before shooting the last one, the biker in the picture would not be inside the dark shadow area. Overall the pictures are great considering that you were riding a bike at the same time. Try to be careful while doing that, I onced fell out of my bike because I was holding my cell phone while riding and broke my left pinky finger.

Be careful of how you refer to the "biker" in MB's bike shots. I don't know her, I just know of her.

Thanks for the advice. I do not know her or know of her. I will try to be more careful. I do not want to offend anyone.

I hope you don't think I was being serious.

Let's just say she has a reputation.

Dr Roebuck knows that "biker" is my wife.

Actually the sweetest person you would ever meet (off the bike).

When see is riding her bike she can be pretty agressive to other cyclists who try to keep up with her.
    No, I DON'T need that.

MB - My God, no Washington landmarks here. though I do recognize that path, maybe Va getting close to the Roslyn area. I think they're OK but very contrasty and perhaps over saturated. That adds some excitement, but I wish the subject (biker) was better illuminated in the bottom one, which I think is a more interesting shot due to the shadows etc. Good technique by the way
