    a very stripey candid shot

    bench by baldemort,

i took this a week ago more for the lovely strong bold lines than the girls or the bench. its as much a graphic shot as a candid but feel that it works well and better in mono than colour.thanks for looking.

thanks for the kind reply. they are a typical exterior decoration from i think the Tudor era in England seen in many of its towns.

Nice composition , would be nice if you could get a bit more detail out of the darker areas without the white part of the walls being changed. Very good choice for a B & W.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

    Hi baldemort,
Awesome shot and I like the composition.
That black and white stripes in back ground gives unique touch to bench picture.

I think this shot shows good eye for a potentially interesting photo. There is nice balance between the stripped background and the ladies on the bench. The activity in which they are engages does not do much for me, though, but this is a matter of opinion - and situation - which as a street photographer, you cannot always influence. Nice BW conversion.

thanks for the reply and advice. i see your point about the ladies on the bench. some have found the boredom on their faces tells a story in itself, as in yet another day at work, and others have wanted a more engaging shot. ideally a grumpy old person or couple would have been perfect but i didn't get lucky enough that day. thanks again

posted pic again due to problem with flickr account...

It's an interesting shot but I think the ladies are just a little too small in the frame. Not that the other things in the photo should be cropped out or anything, for they are interesting. I just want the ladies to be a little larger.

I'll provide them with a week's worth of burgers and ice cream and reshoot.
Seriously though, thanks for the advice and reply.
