    Vermillion

    I got this little guy out at Brazos Bend State Park in TX yesterday. Comments appreciated. Also, here’s one for Paul that I also got out there. It isn’t a very good photo but the birdwatchers were pretty excited about it. The reason the composition is so crummy is because if you look at the lower right corner you can see a very OOF vermillion flycatcher in the same bush.

    I like the DOF on shot two and how it frames and singles out the bird in the picture. I would, in my personal taste, crop it a little as my eye feels like there is a little too much dead space. That however is personal taste. Great shots IMO..

    There's a misty look to the shots, which i find interesting. The color is muted, good in the top photo but a problem in the bottom one. Sharpness could be better but sometimes a decent pic is better than trying for the perfect one and not getting anything (when it flies away).
