    Valve

I see people take pictures of small things and they look amazing. Stuff like a chain link that is rusted or something. I am trying to find interesting things laying around the house to shoot and I tried this shot. What I want to know is a basic CC and is it eye catching. Thank you.

Nice shot, DOF highlight s the valve well. I might be tempted to crop some of the top and right, and rotate it 90

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I like the Depth of Field and the detail of the water on the valve. It adds a lot of interest to the photo.

Overall, I think it is a very interesting BW, somewhat abstract subject. It think you processed the image well. It may be a little too centered, and the DOF is so bad on the right, it may look better with a slightly tighter crop. If you are going for artistic abstract images, I think flipping and rotating is always an option ...so I would try that as well.

Almost everything looks interesting from very close, and this is not an exception. I find the dof pretty cool.

Like some suggested, a rotation would be good.

I agree, the DOF is great and the B&W makes the subject more interesting. I think it would work great in a three shot series or something. I'd like to see more shots like this from around the station.
