    Uso

Model with Army outfit from our Guns & Roses shoot in Feb.

This model is 17 and is Filipino/Black, really a unique mix that keeps you guessing. C&Cs welcome... I think the rose works. but somehow she seems a little amateur the way she's holding it.

I like the 1st one best better color and contrast.
Only prob with the flower, is that it breaks her chin line.
    Lovely lady by the way......
    Look through a glass eye.
    Give it a few tries.

I like the 1st one best also for the color and lighting. I agree the rose looks. . .wrong. . .and does break the chin line. i would have liked to see something dramatic such as her holding the stem of the rose in her teeth with the rose flower against the white background.
    Pretty cool and beautiful girl.

    Re: Uso

Ok fellows, I guess the vote is no rose, or at least a little more separated from her face. The problem is, then she wouldn't be smelling or examining it, or I would have to go to a profile angle, which I didn't want here (I figured that her good looks would be more impactful with a straight-on shot).

Gary, I think this is the wrong model for the rose in the mouth thing, though it isn't a bad idea. Maybe sometime this spring we'll do another shoot.

I actually like #2 (or is it 3) better. But it needs to be tweaked here and there. I think it might work very well in b/w.

I like the closer-ups, as well, don't get me wrong. But to me they don't have the dynamism of the last one posted.

    Re: Uso

Thanks for insight Dray. Yeah the last one has a behind-the-scenes, downtime feel to it that the others seem to lack. I think with relatively beginning models - and beginning fashion photographers - that the highly posed shots will not have enough 'it' to really stand out. That takes time and experience. In the meanwhile, the looser, ad hoc-ish images will win.

    Here's that one in B&W.
