    US Postal Service

Wasn't quite able to get what I wanted, but with a little editing it ended up like this. Comments?

I like your treatment. Very strong edit. I like your perspective, composition, and subject. It would look even better on black.

Really like the shot. I've never seen a place occupied by so many mail boxes. lol. I think the edit is good too. It looks like a chalk drawing now more than a photo though.

Looks great to me. More in the way of "Photography as Art" I like the composition, and the charcoal sketch type effect. The bevel and contour around the edges is interesting. This is something I have used on my pictures in some greeting/thank you type cards.
    Good save. . .

    Re: US Postal Service

    Thks for the comments, Gents!

MY, I took your suggestion but also a step further, saying What about a stamp? The USPS needs their own stamp, one would think. Here's a quick idea.

Liban, there was actually many more.. I think about 15 in that spot. Here's the whole pic. I took some straight-on shots but they were sort of ruined by telephone lines and tress. But since nothing is ever ruined in digital photography cause a fix is a clone away, I will see if I can scan and edit those too. A separate project!

Gary, thks for the insight. I didn't have the idea to do all that at the moment, but maybe I will use this technique in a card sometime. It only works for certain shots btw - the others look too weird.

Thanks for the original shot GB. It's mind boggling how many mail boxes there are in that small stretch. I really like the original shot and it's perspective as well.

LOL... Now that would make for a good stamp Nice find on this GB. As much as I like that style of processing you do, I think the original is my favorite. It's just such a cool find on it's own that I don't think anything needs to be added to the "story".

I really like the treatment and the photo. I really like how you kept the lighting so vivid - how about a tutorial especially on the frame.

GB, I think the original works pretty well as a stand-alone shot on its own, too.

    Re: US Postal Service

Thks for the comments. You think the original is as good or better? I thought it was too plain, tried to make it more 'vintage' or something.

Roger, all I did was do a crop and run a local equalization filter on it in Corel PhotoPaint. I don't believe it's standard in PS, but here's a link I just found for PS users:

    http://www.mehdiplugins.com/english/...ualization.htm

Then I added a rectangular vignette. And there it was. The other stuff in the stamp edit I just added with text and by finding the usps image on the internet.

Liben, here's a shot with all the mailboxes.
