    Urban Art for Photographers!

    Hi all

As part of my ongoing search for urban art, I came across these two which seem particularly apt for photographers. The first once, especially, could do as a motto!

As always, any comments are welcome and appreciated.

    Cheers
    Mike

I like the left one Mike. I've always hoped to see someone painting these, the 1 time I did I didn't have the camera. S

I was at the art store this evening picking up some foam backer board and noticed a young grungy guy very selectively picking out specialty spray can nozzles (yes they make high performance ones with different spray patterns - learn something new every day). I was half temped to follow him home to see what he was working on

    Re: Urban Art for Photographers!

    Thanks guys

I have seen some of this stuff done. The good stuff takes a surprising amount of time and the artists work from sketches etc. I suppose that is one reason the quality work tends to be most common in the areas where street art is accepted or tolerated. In London there are two or three areas like that - the "deal" seems to be that if you want to paint there we will let you, provided you restrict yourself to those places. The advantage from my point of view is that I know where I can go to get photographs of it.

Your photographs of them are fine Mike. I might also have tried stepping back and getting shots of other people looking at the art, so maybe next time. I like the art here, though it is busy. I esp see the top image as something that could be really good if just the fellows' faces where there instead all the rest. But that's all personal taste.

    Re: Urban Art for Photographers!

    Thanks again guys.

GB1 I do have a few like that, including some artists at work. Partly it isn't a big part of the collection is because I am mostly interested in the art itself. The other reason is because a lot of it is in underpasses etc - light levels are often pretty low.
