I like it Guillermo.. Looks artsy, has soul. I would prefer that it be a bit of a better pan where he is in better focus and the surroundings are not, but what the heck. Try adding a sepia tone to the image and see what you get.

Love the "cape" your super-hero is wearing!

    Re: Scooter Man

At first, I thought I might like it better if he were in sharper focus. But I'm not so sure about that now. Panning was a very good move. The more I look, the more I like.

What specifically did you do for b/w conversion?

Excellent, this is what it's all about, nice capture and panning is difficult. Ultimately I agree with Draymorton on some sharpness in the face, but it works well as is. What shutter speed, 1/8?, 1/15? Overall I think you can print and hang. Cheers, S.

    I like this.
It's anonymised by the pan, the blurred face could by anyone.
The background is blurred enough to lose the identifying details.
But the sense of place, the feeling of the surroundings, is still there.
If I got this shot, it'd be a happy accident.

This is a seriously nice shot. I'm with the rest of them, the blurred pan works very very well here, great sense of motion and urgency. (can't get the "mighty mouse" theme song out of my head now )

Hah, I return to see many nice comments for my photo. Thank you very much. Draymorton, I use black and white film. Shootme, I think it was set to 1/60 but I was so amazed to see a super hero live that I was probably shaking a little (and Scooter Man goes SO fast that I was lucky just to SEE him let alone get this picture). SmartWombat, thank you for linking to a Cartier-Bresson picture in a thread for my picture. I can now die in peace!

    Re: Scooter Man

Very nice shot, I wish the person was more in focus though with the background with the motion blur still. Having said that, it still works the way it is. nice catch.

    I would be shaking, too.
