    Untitled.

Here is one of a few interesting pictures I made last night. The bonfire needed some management. . . .

Comments and critiques welcomed. Suggestions cheerfully explored, but please leave the editing to me.

Musta beena hotone! Good catch Cindy. The fire seems a little too hot for the picture, though.

CL - Definitely worth a pic! Not sure it came out perfect though - the fire area is blown out and there seems to be blur and/or out of focus areas on the dozer. Sometimes these shots come out real good, but other times they do not. Sadly, they are hard to reshoot. Try cropping out the right side black area and see what you get here.........

    CL,

So your the one solely responsible for Global Warming

That is so hot. Works for me because the blown out section gives the impact of the heat.

    Thank you for the responses!

John - It was a cool night so we were all glad for the bonfire. I was balancing light sources quite a bit here as some of the blow out you see is from the fire and some is from the headlamps on the tractor.

GB - There's some motion in the face and some of the other details. The tractor was bouncing around quite a bit as he was using the shovel to scrape up embers and compact the fire. I've attached two other versions from alternate view points for comparison. Either the man on the tractor was moving or the tractor was moving for the few minutes he was at it. Hard to make everything "freeze" under the conditions. I'll try to nail it next time.

Roger - Global warming eh? Thanks for the response, the "impact of heat" was what I was shooting for. I think these pics. turned out to be as dramatic as the fire dancers I was there to photograph. I mean, really, outside of wildfires, how often do you see a big tractor like that used as a fire tool?
