    Glassy wave catcher

    Salmon Creek, California, Surfer. 2/20/06

This angle is what caused my shoe to get wet in the first place, climbing up on the rock for this angle.

Edit: helps to attach the photo

I like your comp, but feel lopping off some of the right side would help this shot very much. If you have him more to the right side it would give some sense of where he's heading.

    Hey Yuck,
Looks like a nice day to be out!

Did you add the star highlights in post processing? If so, how does it look w/o them. They tend to blow out the image -- especially around your subject.

Additionally, to me your subject is some what lost in the wave. The 2nd crop helps bring the surfer out. But, I'm thinking s/he still needs more presence. Maybe a slight curves adjustment.

    Tim

Second crop is good.....I also agree with OldSchool about the surfer.

only editing I did on this one was cropping, the stars were there before (it was bright out!)

Here's an attempt, curves takes practice, still learning.
