Well, you are right, it is ugly. But a very nice shot, a little dark around the eye. Maybe. Your detail is sharp and colors are true. DOF is perfect. Real nice shot.

That's quite a weird creature. I like how you framed this but I think that the picture could benefit from some post-processing. I'd adjust levels to get more vivid colors and stronger contrats. Also, it might worth to dodge the eye a little.
