I like the idea behind this shot and it is really sharp.
Am wondering if it might have been better if the person wasn't staring straight back at me and if perhaps he wasn't hugging himself...
I like this shot...i think it shows the side of new york/the world, that most people dont see, or want to see. The camera work looks great, and so does the idea of it. overall i think its a great picture
Homeless people (and many others with enormous problems) often hug themselves because no one else will, i.e. to give their minds a sense of touch and place. Also his stare is pretty empty, I suspect he looked right through you.
This picture, like most of your other man on the street captures, is raw, honest and does not allow you to look away. It is a compelling capture; I know my heart would have been racing after taking a picture like that. Great work.
Hi Tuna
I missed this earlier.
I tried to comment on this picture elsewhere but it disappeared all of a sudden and now I'm wondering if I was sober.
Anyway, I wanted to say that I like this very much but I personally would like not to see the white box thing to the right. So to make it really right for me a crop just to the left of the box would put more emphasis on the two benches and also the poor person. I cannot be certain if the man is looking at the camera; I think he is not and that makes it better for me.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

Thank you, Tom. I always appreciate your comments.
The white box has been mentioned by others as well in other places that I have posted this image. When i crop it out, it becomes a little uncomfortable for me because the man ends up a little too close to the edge and it all appears a bit too symmetrical with just the two benches. Maybe I'll try cloning out the box to see how that looks...
