    Two Arches

    Hi all

Taken yesterday in Bournemouth, which is a very pleasant sea-side town on the south coast of England. Lovely day too!

As always, any comments are very welcome.

    Cheers

Great catch of archetypical sea side town residents. Had the old boy been walking in from the right I think might have been better but maybe not;after all you can only work with what's there.
I do feel though Mike that is all very tightly framed and could do with a bit more of those lovely arches, especially on either side.

I agree with Overbeyond. Do you have another fraction of the arches on either side? Just enough to cut the upper trim pieces perfectly in half perhaps?

Great catch, Mike. But I agree with the others about the cropping. More of the arches might have made it even better.

I like it and think it is a great shot for the timing however I want you to take one giant step to your right to better line things up.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I wish the man was walking toward the couple but I suspect you are too polite to yell at strangers to turn around. Going away does add tension so that's good.
Looks soft but probably due to web compression.

Those are nits.....It's a fine picture and good catch.

    Mike,

I too think this is to tight and we need to see the aurround of the pillar and just a bit more.

However, I like the old chap walking away rejected by the two women, feeling miffed that he has no date tonight.

I love this. The folksiness of it reminds me of a movie by Fellini.

Beautiful shot Mike. Very nicely seen here. I think the guy walking off the frame looks natural to me. I don't get any feelings or desires that he would walk the other way. His Yellow jacket also nicely stands out. Overall a very good capture.

oh, and the arches don't bother me either. I like it the way it is.

This is the only thing that jumped out at me as well. That light colored column in the back accentuates the fact that it's off center. It's a nit-pick though as overall it's a great shot, and like Liban, the guy leaving the scene doesn't bother me at all.
