Wow.. a patriotic bird here Rod. It almost seems like he's wearing a mask or is dressed up for acting !
nice shot. I would have gave him a little more space at the top so not to crowd, but otherwise very effective. That black sure makes him stand out.

thx Greg and Ace. I guess the old ones look like this..? Anyway PP help darken the right with levels and the rest was a conglomerate of minute adjustments.
That's actually a domestic turkey, not a wild one, but it's a male. The hens don't have the colorful head and wattles of the tom turkey. The amount of colors in the head are determined not so much by age, but by mating hormones. They are brightest and most colorful during the spring.
Another thing a wild tom turkey has is a long beard coming out of the middle of their chests.
