I'm enjoying the colours and the especially the earth tones and the nice greens here. The skies might be a bit too contrasty and I think it would look better with some of the foreground cropped out totally.

Great nuance of color here , but i also would crop out a bit of foreground .Do you have another showing a bit more of the hill on the right? Clouds are superb but they just need a little help in photoshop. All in all a very good photograph all the same . Thanks for sharing

    Anew,

I keep coming back to this and finally decided I would leave it as is, however the picture seems to be suffering a bit from reduce and compression which has left a few artifacts in the sky. Am I right in that the original is much sharper with better definition in the clouds?

What immediately strikes me about this image is the repetition of "Scalloped" edges between the clouds and trees and the strong horizontals of the bog and grass lines. The colors are sumptuous and as far as landscapes without any structures go, this is very beautiful and interesting. Nice Work.

I just read the other comments: I like it as framed, no cropping please.

I like the colors in this a LOT...particularly the layers of trees, etc.
Have you considered cropping this more as a panoramic-type crop? When I scroll down and "crop" out some of the sky, it really makes an interesting change.

Like it a lot, regardless though.

    Re: turf bog

    Thanks for the comments guys...

leels - i had thought about cropping the foreground a bit, but on further experimentation with photoshop i decided i preferred it as it is, thanks for the insight thogh, and it's made me look at cropping again...

knight - at the mo i don't have any with more of the hill on the right, but i will be revisiting this area again and again over the next while, keep you posted, thanks!

roger - there seems to be some compression going on alright, i hadn't noticed it at first, but on looking again i see it, the original is a lot sharper, with no artifacts visible (to my eye anyway!). thanks for your thoughts.

CLKunst - thanks for your comments, glad you like it!
Emily - the cropping seems to be a recurring theme here alright, and hadn't thought of a panoramic style (probably because i don't go in for panoramas myself), but after this i will definately revisit the photos and see what way i can revise and retry different methods of display. thanks for your imput.

    cheers

Anew, as others staed, the colors and scalloped clouds/trees are great. There is an odd appeal to this scene. It looks to be screaming for a vertical subject in there, but the deliberate lack of one and the islolated, lonely mood of this has an artistic effect. This is very good.

Anew...either way you go about it, if you crop it or leave it, it's still a beautiful pic.

    Re: turf bog

I agree with the coropping crowd.
For me, the bext part of the image is everything but the sky.

I'd crop it to the first flat horizontal layers in the cloud deck, just under the dark parts.
Then print it 8" high and as wide as it needs to be because my local shop only goes to 8" paper.
12" by as many feet as you need would be gorgeous, I think.

    The colours are superb.

    Re: turf bog

Hi Anew - Somewhat of a plain shot, but at the same time, there is something tranquil about it. The dark treeline in the back makes the photo seem like it was cut and overlaid on top of another. The horizontal lines of the field are relaxing. Maybe I'm a farmer at heart.
