I'm torn on this shot. hmmmm. Photographically it doesn't do it for me, but Graphically I can see this as a magazine cover for some outdoors south western magazine. Sorry, i couldn't be of more help. I honestly don't know why I'm so torn. lol

The shot is fine but, as Leels said, we've seen it already on Southwest magazine covers many many times and our eyes are ready for something different. Next time you can, go back, take your time and, find a new and different perspective that will put more pizzazz into the shot. Sometimes turning around and looking at what is behind you works for me! Try, try again --- you know that area has great potential.

I agree, fellows .. a cactus is a cactus. There's always new and exciting viewpoints of them, but I also don't feel this is one of them.

It's harder than it looks to get creative angles (hard for me, anyhow)... I think if one lived there that would be at an advantage w/ that. I wish there was an animal or two in this shot.

Agree with all you said OTOH this is a very well done image of a pretty good looking cactus.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: In Tucson ...

GB1, it's a good shot in any case. Have you thought of trying to get your camera on the trunk of the cactus looking up and maybe getting a shot of the lines of the cactus? Now that would be a different perspective. S
