    Truffles

This is one of the dogs I was watching. I tried to get some portrait shots to give to her owner. I'm thinking about blowing one of these up and giving it to her owner. They came out better than expected since I was trying to take the shot with one hand while waving a tennis ball in the other to keep her ears up and her attention at me.

Any suggestions are welcome. Including how to best hold a maxxum 7000 (I love my workhorse but it is a heavy camera) with a 70-300mm zoom on steady with one hand,

Are these scans of prints? They look a bit like they are washed out. My old scanner did this to all my photos and I had to spend a good ammount of time color correcting just to match the prints! That being said I prefer the left shot.

I'm not familiar with your camera, but I've been able to get around the one handed problem before on cameras that have a self-timer by setting that, grabbing the camera in better position and hoping for the best. Self-timers have also been great when I need a steady shot and don't have any way to release the shutter via remote or release cable.

I'm a sucker for animal shots especially dogs. Love the intent look of anticipation - your use of the ball worked well. Not sure how to help with hand held camera and zoom lens.....I have similar problems.....you have coped very well.......maybe use a tripod if you are able next time???

Two things are distracting from the image for me. The dog is drooling....obviously want that ball. I find the collar and I presume it's an ID of some sort and the silver connection for a lead taking my eye several times while viewing your image.......

I hope you threw the ball to the dog at the end of the shoot?

ps....I think the first shot shows the chocolate colouring to advantage over the second iamge...
    Focus on the positive!
