    Trees on the Lakeside

Two fronts banged heads right over my area yesterday and I had the good fortune of being in a lovely park when it happened. Results brooding clouds and lovely bright sunshine. Your comments?

very nice. what were your settings on the shot? could you have maybe exposed more for the lightest portion of the clouds or would that have blown out the sunlit portion of the trees?

    Hi Kam!

Welcome to PR and thanks for your comment. Here are the settings for this image:

ISO 400 F/10 1/750 sec Manual Exposure Handle-held Pentax *istDs

Yes, I suppose I could lighten it in post to the exposure of the lightest clouds but I really like the contrast between the yellow grass and the slaty blues of the sky and water. I enjoy dramatic cloud days quite a bit. Hope that answers your questions.

I like the shot the dark clouds and water draw you into the center. Lots of different shades of greens and browns a plus.

I like it as well, especially the alternating of the trees, and the rings around each. It looks great the way it is, kinda like the impending thing goin on

    Hi CL,
Good eye! The trees with a golden yellow background is very pleasing. I do not think the water contributes to the shot. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your thoughtful responses. I appreciate your insight.

    Yoyo,
The first image I showed was actually my second framing of this scene. Here is the first.
