    Tree by the water

This is another photo from yesterday at Mason Neck Park...there was an area that had a walkway and some streams, and I really loved the way this tree and the sand by it looked. With the wind rippling the water a bit, it just seemed like a nice shot.

    Re: Tree by the water

This is one of my favorite shots from all you've posted, Emily! And you post some great shots!! I love the ripples and the bit of tree, and even the leaf. The entire image is full of texture but none of it overpowers any other section. If I could possibly pick on anything (and you have to remember who is suggesting this, The Queen of Over The Top and Over Done ), I guess it would be the temperature. Maybe warming it up with a filter and pushing the contrast up a smidge to take advantage of that wonderful play on all the textures, and this will really come alive!

D, thank you so much! I'm glad you like this. Your suggestion of warming it up a smidge is a good one...I might play with that idea a bit.

This is very nice indeed Emily. The long shadow is very effective.
I do see however a crocodile just about to enter the water.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan
