    Tree at Night

Does this work for you at all? This tree was lit up by a very large light but I really wasn't happy with the color version.

I like it. The big light works well.

Too bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy running taxicabs or cutting hair.

    Hi Greg,

I like the shot, but it looks pixelated? Not sure I'm using that word right, but it has a weird texture that I'm assuming was introduced in the resizing process. Also, the foreground has a blurry look to it...did you do something there...cloning, maybe? Otherwise, I like it. You might try shooting from a little farther off to one side so the lighting isn't so frontal...to add some depth. However, there might be too much contrast, due to the point light source. Just an idea.

There is nothing in there that says night to me.

I did clone in the grass. There was a heavy shadow created by the bridge I was standing on. There are a couple of stars in the sky. This was a 30sec exposure...

Unluckily the JPG compression pixelated the sky. I just checked the file size and it's.... 51K about one fourth of the 200K some allowed. The pixelation happens as the JPG throws out the information, the compression level needs to be adjusted. Your uploaded files should be between 150K and 219K to avoid the pixelated look.

Thanks again. My computer crashed a few weeks back and I had to reload all software and I guess some of my PS settings got reset. I will check them out.

Hehe... I just read the caption. I was about to ask what kind of flash you used to light up the whole tree .
