    Re: Treasure Island Marina

Rick - # 2 takes the prize here. It is very, very sharp and stands out well against the background. However (and unfortunately), I do think it's too cramped, esp at the top. I guess I feel this way because it's aiming up, and perhaps that warrants leaving a little more space in front of the way it's going? It sort of just about touches the top. (Wow that was a long ramble!)

The other two shots are OK, sort of fall into the 5/10 category. I find that happens with boats all the time, just hard to get a real good one (and also hard to get a terrible one). I guess that's the way it is!

    Re: Treasure Island Marina

That IS a beautiful shot with #2...the colors are great, I really like the shape of the flower.

I think the problem with the other two shots is the grass and such in the foreground. It takes away from the calmness of the water, imo. It's (the grass) too scraggly for the serenity of the scenes, know what I mean? Last nit on those...there's a slight tilt to the one with the dock & kayak.

The strength in that shot though is the bright colors of the person & kayak against the water, and the lines of the dock are great. With the first shot, I like the way the sailboats, dock posts & bridge all sort of mimic each other.

I agree with the above. Also if the flower wasn't so centered but a bit to the left and as was mentioned not cramped at top. It is the best shot.

I like them all but 1 and 3 look as though they need sharpened slightly. I also am not real sure of the sailboat mast running thru the bridge, The flower picture is nothing but awesome, tack sharp, beautiful color and compostion. The DOF and background is as good as I have seen.

Yes,That #2 image is something...huh. I shot that flower with the Infamous Nikkor 1.8D. It's the sharpest lense I've used...ever.
