    Tractor Series - Reworked

These are a little more contrasty with muted colors (half sepia) Are these better than the 1st series? Would like to hear what you think.

    Thanks!

I just peeked in on the first series, and I liked the first shot. It was almost like a picture within a picture. The front shot of the tractor in has an ominous look, but looking in on the 2nd series I see them with a little more character. I really like the mute half sepia tones. I will have to play with that sometime. Overall I think I like the colored series better.

Defiantly the second series!, these are great - even though I loved the b & w's also.

    But go the colour ones!

    I'm a fan of Bw

but these have so much more life to them not because of the color alone they just seem to have more detail and more depth/dimension to them....nice series...

Thanks Nat, I was trying to get a little more feeling to them and the color + sharpness I think adds what I was looking for. Thanks for looking Nat.

MJM, CJSoap, + JJ, thanks! The coloring technique is actually from Hodgy's collection of actions for Photoshop
http://www.nobsphotosuccess.com/actions.html. I think it gave the shots a little more life than just a straight B+W conversion or the Infrared conversion.

    Thanks for looking!

Wes, I had looked in on the Original Series before, and liked them then, but now, They have so much **life** to them! ( Mostly the first two, the third doesn't really speak to me)
Image # 1 First time I saw it in B&W i thought " that's a good composition, he may have something there with the way the tractor was framed, but NOW ! The color makes you look at the tractor....but then I caught myself checking out the texture of the wood on the building and the interesting markings on the cinderblock wall. This version definitely keeps my attention longer. You've introduced a whole 'nother element to the design of this photo.

Image #2 - Love it!! It seems to have a personality of its own and you've captured that ! I like the way that the little headlights look like eyes ! One suggestion though... I would clone out the dead branch on the left side, hanging into the bare sky. or maybe i'm too "clone happy" Maybe it gives it more character? lol... now i'm undecided... so, you decide.

Rachel, thanks I like #1 and #2 the best. #3 is kinda ho hum. Amazing what you can do with a little photoshop! I agree with your cloning idea too - that branch is history! Poor little tractor with no one to love it! Thanks for looking.
