Shot on canon point and shoot at the killing fields Cambodia, a truly overwhelming feeling of remorse and disgust about the atrocities that took place. It really put my life in to perspective and showed how lucky i have been.

The composition is very good. The lighting in the middle seems a little harsh and could probably use a little PS work but the message is strong. You certainly nailed the mood.

You are so right about the light.I did make a few adjustments to bring it back but there is just no detail those parts of the image are totally burned out.

I agree with Greg. Its just too sad an image for me to critique technically.

yes, if the light wasn't so harsh it would be even better a shot, but still quite impactful. I would consider cropping off the bottom half of the shot from just where the skulls get super bright there (about 3/5 of the way down actually).

It is amazing how skulls like this all seem to be linked to the Cambodian genocide. It suppose it's burned into our minds. But perhaps Cambodian skulls also look a little different than other races..

Perhaps it is so memorable because it happened in out lifetimes as adults instead of in history books. There have been other genocides of odorous proportions, The Trail of Tears, and the Armenian Holocaust to name just two that have been sort of glossed over in history books when I was in school. I am now 69 so that has been awhile ago.

very powerfull shot, its amazing how seing images like this really hit home, more so when you see it in the flesh though, i have some shots from auschwitz in poland, but they do nothing compared to actually seeing the place with you own eyes.

Powerful subject. . . good composition but rather unfortunate lighting at this time. Actually, I think you can try reducing the exposure so that the dark areas only give us a hint of the many skulls piled there and the highlighted areas will be better exposed. I think that will bring more of a mood and sense of the horror of it all.
