    Tower of Babel

    Hi all

I am currently working on a sort of book of meditations with a friend - I do the photographs and she does the words.

This one is called "The Tower of Babel" - I was after an antique look, at odds with the extreme modernism of the architecture.

    What do you think?

    Cheers
    Mike

I think you have achieved what you set out to get Mike and it looks like a real good perspective on the building too.
I would have two suggestions; remove the outer sepia fringe and reposition top "scratch" or change its direction as I feel it is a little too similar to the scratch below. But these are nit pics.

This is really outstanding Mike! I agree about the parallel scratchs, but beyond that, I love everything about it. Curious what you used for the overlay. I have a whole folder of shots of concrete & rocks I use for very similar purposes. cracked concrete is the best, especially if it has some wear and mildewed areas

    Thanks guys

Tom - I have done exactly as you suggest. Much better. Thanks.

jetrim - thanks also to your good self. I just used a layer from an old photo which I found on a free textures site. It was lightly sepia toned so I overlaid it on a mono version of my original image. The light sepia warms it very slightly, which I like.

Mike; the reworked version is the ticket.
The photograph (is it Lloyds?) is a great image in it's own right.
