    Topa Topa's at sunset

This mountain range in Southern California lights up every evening at sunset. It's called the "Pink Moment" because they usually glow pink. Of course this night, it was an orange moment. Comments?

The iron railings look out of place here, they drag your attention away from those hills which I assume is your POI.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I agree with hminx, you are too far away from your subject. It is nice to have a little foreground interest to connect the subject to the place but in this image the foreground overwhelms the subject (the orange hills).
    No, I DON'T need that.

Nice subject, though I agree that the railing and distance to subject hurt. One thing we photogs all have to learn is, how will it look Photographed? Just check the viewfinder before you fire and ask whether it is a worthwhile shot. I've personally become more comfortable with not firing when I know it simply isn't there.

    Re: Topa Topa's at sunset

Thanks for the input guys. This mountain range at sunset is usually spectacular. I was trying to find an unobstructed view (no telephone wires/poles, etc) plus I wanted to frame it with something. When you view it at full size, the mountain range is much larger and doesn't seem as far away as when viewed at this size, but I still agree the railing is a little distracting. Thanks again
