    Too much?

I had a photo I took that I loved her face but hated everything else, so once again I decided to be brave and try something new. Too much crop on this one? LOL. Maybe I should have left well enough alone?

Just needs a little bit of unsharpen masking that is all to bring the eyes out.

It's great, intimate shot. I just think the crop is a bit too tight on the chin. Ease it up a bit there and it will improve.

I'd agree with Sebastian. With the exception of the chin being so close, I love it.

    better?

I sharpened the eyes and made the crop less severe around the chin. Better??

** edited to add, if you don't see the changes please refresh - I saved over my last photo so it's possible that your computer still sees the old one. **

I think it's a good shot. I wanted to post earlier to advice to move up the chin, but it seems Sebastian already gave that advice.

What I see here and quite often in other shots on this forum is that images are either to dark or too light or lack contrast. I think it's a pitty, because some shots are much better than people think, they only need a correction, most of which can be a one minute job.

Take for example this shot. By increasing the contrast and dynamic range (in this case towards the whites) one gives the face more character. A final sharpening like Peter suggested adds more details to the eyes and the image comes much more alive (eyes, details like freckels, shadows/highlights, textures)

Most shots (some exceptions) have some almost pure whites and black in them, keep that in mind when you look at them with your eyes, because it helps to avoid flat images that lack contrast.

Kate- I love the shot no matter what- I do agree with the above posters There advice just adds to your little sweethearts uniqueness, and beautiful eyes (draws you in to the pic!)
