Well Seb, I can't know what your intention was on this, and I may be in the minority of one, but I think Tony needs to have more light. JMHO.

The only thing that I see that I would change would be to clone out the white label on the window on the far right. It is distracting when I look at Tony.

Yes, the fellow fades into the background way too much, esp his pants.

    Re: Tony

Isn't he meant to be fading into, or emerging from, the darkness?

    Re: Tony

Thanks guys. Greg, I have cloned the the label from the final version. I didn't noticed it before you pointed it out but it became very distracting afterward lol...

About the darkness, just out of curiosity, to which extent does the guy fade in the darkness on your monitors? I fear that this is the kind of picture that wont show up well on every display. On my calibrated screen, I clearly and entierly distinguish the model from the background (feet included!) although there is very little (if any) texture on his clothes.

    regards

I can see his feet but they are very dark. I can check on a different monitor tomorrow....

    Re: Tony

Seb, the scene is mysterious. I really enjoy the background and it's lighting/exposure. Although I can see the mans legs and feet and shadow as well, I feel he should be lit up a bit more. Otherwise, a very interesting picture.

    Re: Tony

On the laptop, it depends on the viewing angle.
If I tilt the screen forward, so I'm looking down on the screen, I get more shadow detail.
I can see the two sets of shadows from his legs and his feet are clearly visible.
But at a normal viewing angle, it's fading to black from halfway between knee and ankle.

I'll look on the calibrated monitor at home tonight and compare.

OK it's better on the calibrated CRT, but I think it's suffering from being surrounded by the white web page background.
I think it needs a substantial dark border to allow the eye to see into that dark ground.

    Greg: Thanks

    Gary: Thanks.

Paul: That is a very interesting observation. A white background probably "hurts" any very dark picture.
