Very nice shot Mig. well composed too.

It definitely tells a story on it's own. It's one of those shots.

Also, Happy birthday to Granma indeed, she's well poised and looks strong.

Another thing I like about this shot is the two ladies telling secrets in the back and confiding with each other. I think you've captured a great moment here. good job.

what a wonderful image! I wish you had gotten more of her tiara and the tips of her fingers. I love her expression and I like the little conspirators behind her. I would crop off a bit on that right edge to get rid of that dark sleeve encroaching but wonderful job!

And happy birthday, Grams! 90!! God bless her!

I love it! I'm just dying to know what kind of conversation the two ladies in the corner were up to!

    Re: 'Tis Herself

Thank you all for the kind words.

skyline315 - The two women in the back are her sisters and knowing them they're up to no good. It's a large family - there are a lot of things (people) to talk about ;)

Chunk & CLKunst - You know what's funny? My mother didn't like one of the other pictures I took. Her stated reason? "She looks old."

Leels - She is indeed strong - she raised seven girls by herself. Her husband (remarried in her 70s), is 93 - he still walks to town almost daily. They're both going to outlive me I think.

dbutler - the tiara clipping is my biggest regret with this and thanks for pointing out the black - it is indeed distracting.

    Thanks again.
