    Very colorful, almost explosive (!)

I also own a macro lens and have found marcro shooting to be harder than it seems. You really have to use a small aperature, eg, something like f11 or f16, to get a decent DOF. But since you're so close, that means that the slightest movement can ruin the shot I guess no-wind days are ideal ...

    Good luck!

Very nice. I love macro photos of flowers. You can almost smell the aroma.

I am also very new to macro photography. I shot this flower in a vase at a table I was at recently. I was enjoying a drink and looked at the flower and thought that would look great in a photo. I didn't have time to take a manual exposure and the shallow depth of field is the result. Still I love the look. I plan on expanding my expertise with the macro. Please share any new shots you take and feel free to comment on my photo too. This is also and un-retouched image. I used a Minolta DiMAGE Z6 in super macro mode.

Thanks for sharing, I love the color. I do see where a manual exposure may have improved this image a little but I like it. I was using a KM Dimage A2 in Macro mode. I am waiting for my new camera (Nikon D70s) to arrive, I can't wait to start shooting with it!
Keep posting more macro shots and I will do the same!
