All three are interesting, but that first one is really a stand-out. the other two are fine, except the peacok image I wish there was a better lighting on the subject to carry it out and above a bit more. The Rocket and sign is pretty cool. The bright yellow sign pointing out the beach and then seeing the stars right next to it from the rocket is eye pleasing and lets ones imagination go. the first with the kids is just really well captured from the moment to the composition and the dreamy holga effect goes with the scene.
nice stuff
I think the one of the children could be the best but it clearly shows the limitations of the camera as the main subject (the kids in the foreground) are way too soft. The background being soft and dreamy works well but I really do want those kids in front to be sharp.
Of these three the middle image works the best for me. I like the colors and composition a lot.
Hi Herriot,
I like the comical elements in Shot 3. The colour contrast in Shot 2 is also very pleasing as mentioned by Gary. It also reminds me of your style. Thanks for sharing.
yoyo
Gary - thanks for your input, agree that the first is the one that captured my eye the most, perhaps this should have been three separate posts. Was very pleased to have this group of children chase after me, I think that the older boy actually thought the process of having a photograph taken was actually going to hurt, all very amusing for his friends in the background!
Dylan - thanks for your input, erm, yes, the statue is a chicken, the peacock title referred to the combination of the bird figure and the palm in the background, perhaps too subtle...
MB1 - You are absolutely correct, the plastic lens has limitations but that is what it is all about for me, sometimes it is just so welcome to just shoot and see what happens in a surprising way throughout the process, also the only film I ever seem to use at the moment.
Yoyo - good to hear from you and hope that all is well, glad you liked the colours in the second, it grabbed my eye as soon as I saw it.
