    Through someone else's eyes.

As usual, click the image to view the full size.

What do you think of this one?

    What I did:
    Image #1 focused on fence
    Image #2 focused on background

Color corrected both, put image 1 on top layer, then set opacity on top layer to 65%.

Cool shot. I think it's fine as is but I think I'd like it better if you had stepped/zoomed back and gotten more links in. Would have created a 'bigger' feel. But the idea works for me.

I think the effect is OK but I am betting that a wide-open aperature would have also created a dreamy, abstract look. If you do a reshoot with the larger size, post both for comparison.

Will do. The aperture was set at F8 for both (as small as it gets on the A510, so you think I should go with F2.6, 2 shots, 1 with fence in focus and one with building?)

You could try that for the second expt with the double shot effect.

But with the single shot suggestion, I would shoot it at the widest aperature possible, focusing on the fence links and letting the background be out of focus. Then I'd shoot another at 1/2 f-stop smaller, and then 1 f-stop smaller, etc. I think this shot would be better and more abstract with the background VERY out of focus.. It might signify that the area within the fence is one world, the area outside another.

Cool concept, but the subject is dull.
