    Three Horses

    I know what I am not happy with so what about you guys? Any PS tips?

    Nice scene. I think you have too much of the sky. But it still looks very nice. I like the vastness of the field. Try giving the sky a bit more contrast. In fact, the whole frame could use a little more contrast.

    Greg I feel the vast sky takes over the shot. You could loose a large amount of it and the horses then start to take their places and become more prominent. It must be dinner time as all three are tucking in to the grass.

    At first, I noticed the seemingly disproportionate amount of sky, but I quickly grew to like it that way. It makes it a photo not merely of three horses, but of the wide open spaces to which they belong. I think it could use a little sharpening--the sky, anyway. And this is one of those instances where I think infinite DOF is called for. One wants to see everything in focus. I guess I am saying it is not so much an equine portrait, as it is a landscape sprinkled with horses.

    This was taken at Berry College which is thousands of acers. The vastness of the world /sky is kind of where I was going, but I have been known to put way to much sky in my shots, it's a personal style I guess. I am not sure how it sets with others though.
