Nice shots indeed. That's encouraging as hopefully I'll be getting one next week.

Very nice. I do wish the bg were a bit more consistent on the right side though (gotta add some critique). Contrats on the body, it will serve you well!

hey those cameras have the new nikon top of the notch sensor in them don't they?

I can't wait for them to upgrade the D300 with that sensor

Nice shot by the way. love the rope, a nice touch.

I took a look at your other pictures and really like them. I would be interested in knowing what lens you used, Jeff

Corrected - "hey those cameras have the new [Sony] top of the notch sensor in them don't they?"

    Sorry, can't help myself.

Jeff, it was the kit lens that came with the camera ...18-105 AF VR Nikkor lens.

Terry - Nikon wishes it could be as cool as Sony one day :-)

Re: My new D7000 shots - Roping Steel

Ha ... sort of a pointless shot besides to try out the camera, but I can't complain: it like the kind of shot I posted with my new D700 about a year ago. People commented on the very average image instead of sharing my enthusiasm, which deflated me a bit

Oh... Didn't know that. Are we talking about the same thing? Apparently, Nikon's new camera's (don't know if it's more than 1 camera) have a new sensor that's supposed to be great. I take it that's really a Sony? or is it only for this camera?

Sony is a major producer of sensors for all types of consumer products and Nikon has bought Sony sensors for many of their DSLRs. It's not who made them that counts, it's what you do with them and Nikon, by all accounts I see, has done a great job implimenting this sensor with the D7000. - Terry
