The image is too small for the subject and fine detail that I think is there-I just can't see it well enough to tell. If it is a good shot (well focused and well lit) it would be interesting to view blown up really large.

Hi MB1, I'm not sure how to put a larger shot here. This one is near max as it is. I think it is 187kb and the limit is 194kb...."I" think it is a good shot, but I really wanted some more critical advise as I am in a learning mode...
This, imho, is one of the better closeups I've done...but I'm sure there is a lot here I could do better...if someone would just tell me what...hehehe...
Anyway...thanks for the comment to you and ChowChi-Ching

Ken
You could crop a smaller section out and just post that or even cut the thing into quarters and post each one.
Try this...
Use the Magic Wand tool with the shift key held down and Select-Similar to select colors in the flower. We're trying to get just the flower selected withoutmuch of the background being selected. If you get too much selected just Ctrl-Alt-Z to back up or select an earlier step in the History pallette. Once you have mostly only flower selected, invert the selection (Select-Inverse) so that everything but the flower is selected. Then use a curves adjustment pulling down on the left half of the curve to darken the darker parts of the background some.
I think having the lace stand out from the background improves the shot.
Thank you MB1 and Chunk...I will try your suggestions...Chunk...You're going to keep me busy tonight trying your suggestions...but, as I have a real desire to learn this stuff...I really appreciate everything you can teach me.
