My eyes feel violated... Seriously though, I think the image has enough irony that it could have worked on it's own.

I agree with n8 on this. However, I do applaud daq's experimentation. This shot is very powerful without cross lines.

Because it needed to be done.

It is funny that I am asked why I manipulated this. I manipulated this no more than any other shot I have posted. It is all just exposure selection.

Daq, I dont know what you mean, I have only ever seen one other image of yours that had the distinct solid horizontal vertical exposure boost lines in them.

What I mean is that it is a selection of an exposure. Whether I choose to emphasize one exposure over another with a feathered blend or with a hard line obviously matters, but it isn't all that different in principle. If you hate it, that is ok. If you like it, that is ok too.

A strong subject matter and very worthy. The cross has already been touched on, but so far as the composition I think waiting a slight second for the gents legs to move more out of the frame would have helped. I don't mind the feet in the shot just that they are touching the subjects head, compositon 101. The girl on the right doesn't bother me at all.
I find that street photography is a totally different sport than landscape and takes on a whole different approach. It ain't easy.
Your images always seem to be a little soft and sometimes noisy,

I really Like it, but I would like the cross to be more of a visual element. have you tried using a Celtic or Franciscan cross?
