I like the composition with the birds and the row boat. I would like a little more details overall though, especially the distance mountain. The sun seems to be washing out some of the details.
I agree with denny. I really like this shot. Good composition with the boat and birds. The bg colors do seem to be washed out. Makes me wonder what area you metered from. With a shot like this, it is much better to take a mid-range area of the frame to meter from. That way you should be able to keep some details in the darker areas and not have the highlights wash out on you.

I like the washed out the background. Gives it more of a misty feel to me. I would like a little more blue in the foreground to counter it in impact though. It's a beautiful shot!
Absolutely amazing - do nothing other than print and hang.
I adore the reflection of the birds in the water and the colours remind me of the dawn in Spain.

thank you all very much for your kind suggestions and comments. this was taken with a low profile camara, I've since been promoted to bigger and better (a problem because the camara knows more than I do!), but this is one of my favorite pictures so I am specially pleased that you have liked it too. Denny & Srobb, you're right about the light, the sun was coming up and produced quite a counter effect, difficult conditions. I tend to agree with Dbutler though, I like the washed out effect, there was mist, but I've accentuated it with saturation. Payn, Swmdrayfan, Readingr & Smartwombat, your warm comments have livened this cold, winter day!
