The terminal station

Sort of a photo essay, I shot detail instead of trying to shoot the whole thing, because it is huge, and too many obstructions. The station was built in the mid 1800's, and is in downtown Macon, Ga. Any suggestions on how to make these better would be greatly appreciated.

payn, I like what you have been doing lately with the framing of structures in symetry. The first one here is suffering from what looks like flash lighting on the column, but the framing , is good. The second one is good, but can use a slight rotation clockwise to level the horizontal ledge at the bottom with the frame. The third shot is really very good. The perspective and subjectis great and you framed this shot very well. Definetely a powerful shot. good

These are good angles and I feel you have achieved what you set out to do.
I must say that I cannot find the unlevel ledge that Gary refers to. A cloudy sky would have helped here also giving it a "dizzying" feel and in the absence of a decent sky I think the second looks better with a tighter crop at the top.

Tom, It appears he has since straightened it out and reposted the fix. Good work, payn817. I really feel that third shot is very strong

I did fix it, and forgot to mention that. Gary was right there was a tilt, and what an eye he has, I didn't see it at all . That tells me that he took the time to really look though, even better than I did, which means alot to me.

Thanks for your views, both of you. The third is my favorite as well, I prefer B&W to color anytime, and I like rusty/decayed things. The second would be hard to crop without a ratio issue, and I can reshoot on a better day. The first one isn't from flash, but an uplight on the building (taken right at sunset before they went off), with the longer shutter to get the dark blue a little lighter may have made it worse. That one can be reshot also. The building has alot more to offer in shapes, and decor. For now, one goal is to shoot all the old and intracate buildings downtown from a "new" angle, and show them from a different perspective. I am sure I am not the first to try, but it will be good practice for me.

Payn, I really like these pictures, your compositions are really neat.
I too am distracted by the lighting in the first one. Judging by how it's diffused on the structure, it looks like a camera flash, the picture being color corrected afterward. It's a shame because your choice of framing on this one is especially clever.

I really like the tones and the strong textures of the third one.

I guess that the second one is the weakest of the series. Your execution is good but the framing seems more conventional when directly compared with the two others.
