    Tapu!

Tapu, Tabu, Taboo, all the same word meaning sacred or forbidden from the Polynesian languages... I shot this from Irwin Christians roadside garden on Bora Bora. In color it was rather pretty, but in black and white it becomes Tapu....

The composition looks fine, but I think this is one that will look better in color. Right now, the way the lighting is and the tones are of this image it is difficult to make out the various different elements in the scene especially in the foreground and also looks flat. I think colors in this would help seperate the various details and give a greater feeling of depth to this.

You might want to retake this and I would like to volunteer to go and help you with it .
Just kidding. I like it. I prefer the color version. The scenery is very nice and I like the tiki in the photo also.

I know the feeling mamajan, I live on Raiatea which is one of the neighbor islands to the southwest of Bora... When I am home, I get over there at least a couple of times a month to visit with family and friends and to catch up on all the happ's that I missed while being in Amerika Shima.....

I can't help but feel this could use a little sharpening.

The color version looks better but the B & W does evoke more of a feeling of taboo.

Ms, I see that we think alike....

Just out of curiosity, are you close to Pipestone? There is a place that I would like to visit again, my wife and I visited there many years ago when I was a Field Engineer for Sperry Univac, I still have a pipe on my wall that was given to us by the artisans there.. I would like to get a few pieces of the red and the snow flake pipe stone to carve. Perhaps one of these times I will come across some...

Thanks to all, for the feed back...
