    Re: Swings

Read your words, scrolled down to pic, it almost startled me.
I love this just because it is so unique. A real attention grabber.
The straight on perspective adds to the geometric graphic.
I think I'd like just a tad bit more room at top but not much.

    Re: Swings

Wow, it really looks strange the effect of having it buried in snow really defines the shape and colour. It looks to have been cropped out if you know what I mean and placed on another scene. Good catch. S

    Re: Swings

It looks good, but for this scene I think it needs to be totally symmetric.
I think maybe half a step to the right to make the angles of each tripod at the end the same.
Or the same to the left to make them definitely different, and look planned.
As it is, it looks like it's meant to be symmetric but missed.

I'm fascinated by the lack of shadows.

I agree on the symmetry. It's a bit off. But I suppose this was the only spot to get the center posts ligned up perfectly.

Really nice Tom. The only thing That I think would make this better is some space around the swings, they seem tight in the frame, other than that, I like it. also, since the snow was so nice and white, I'm sure you can create your own space around this image.

Thanks very much to all for taking the time.
Yes perhaps a little more space at the top and I do agree that the symmetry is a little off. I had not spotted that. This was taking with my compact and I dislike composing shots on a screen; much prefer a viewfinder.

    Tom,

Most of what I was going to say has been said. Looking good and I really like the perspective, even though the symmetry is a little off.

I know what you mean about compacts and I am looking to replace my little Nikkon with a compact that has a viewfinder.

Using the viewfinder I can hold the camera a lot steadier, tuck the arms in etc and I feel looking through a viewfinder is exciting and a very "private" and a more accurate way to work especially if you are cropping tightly. Waving two outstretched arms, especially on full zoom and even more especially after a few pints I assure you is more like trying to steer a cardboard ship on a stormy sea.
    Maybe it is just me.

    Re: Swings

Amazing shot as is, though I can see what Liban is saying (about creating more space around the swings).

The fact that everything isn't 100% symmetrical doesn't bother me.
