    Swimming Pool in Winter

This pool has been around for a long time. The water in it is fed from an underground spring that feeds water to a third of the county. The water is very cold, even in the summer time.

Very good shot Greg with a good cold, isolated, winter feel to it.
Did you desaturate the trees etc in the background? The reflection of this area in the pool still retains the colour.

Nice composition and colors although I might like to see the closer edge of the pool too to show that it is a swimming pool.
    No, I DON'T need that.

That's a great shot and one of the better "reflection" shots I've seen around here.

    I wish:

    1) You could pull back a little like MB said, both to get the front edge of the pool and to get more trees in the background.

    2) The water was more still.

    Re: Swimming Pool in Winter

Definitely a winner Greg. The slight desaturation works very well as does the wintry stillness of the water. The whole thing looks chilly. It's interesting that although in MOST photos a little extra saturation makes it pop, in this case it's exactly the opposite - it's the muted colour which makes it work.

    Good one!

Neat image Greg, the cold winter colors and reflection are good. Makes me wish summer was here. I'll try to get you some snow pictures.

Have you thought about desaturating everything except the water and the reflection?

Nicely done Greg and the desaturation works well

Good work, Greg. Good soft tones and icy winter feel. I like it as is.
