Cindy - Not a bad shot in that it is playful, candid, etc. The one thing that hurts the photo somewhat is that four of the five are looking away from the camera. I would crop in those to show more of the kids' expression to mitigate that somewhat,

I agree, except I don't know the solution.

Very cute/fun but I think you are too far away from the kids (or they are too far away from you) for this to be a top image.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Thanks for commenting folks. I have the same problem with this one. Not enough eye contact/interaction from my swimmers. Thanks for the critiques.

Cindy, I love the spot from where you were shooting, but my nitpick is the same as everyone else's.

Thanks John, I appreciate the comment. These are my kids and a friend of mine's. We were camping and this was at a mountain stream nearby. The place was so beautiful I just had to get a couple of shots before I jumped in myself. The water was ice cold!!!

I agree that you are just too far from the subjects here, although I understand why and that you included the surroundings which are great. I think you can just try cropping this from all sides into a tighter scene and see if that works.

Thats all about being a kid in summer..nice composition..not forced. It reminds me of an old magazine cover..saturday evening post maybe? Maybe a tiny bit of levels adjustment to hit some of those bright areas..?..
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

    Re: Swimmin' Hole

Thanks for looking Gary. I have another from a few frames later that is a tighter crop, here it is.

J - Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Old Timer made a similar comment in the gallery. I spend a lot of my day getting people to look at me just so, it's a relief to just let the kids be and take the shot. I wondered if those hot leaves were an issue to anyone. Thanks again.
