    Swim Meet

We spent a good part of Saturday at a swim meet and here are some shots. It's different from what I normally like to shoot so I'm not sure how well these come across. I welcome your feedback.

awesome shots! the first one is perfect. i like how its a little bit dark and the blues show up strong and complements (compliment?) the reds. the third one is the coolest i think. im reminded of that scene in War of the Worlds when that little girl comes across the river of dead people. also i love how the third lane swimmer is the only one apparently making any attempts to move forward. the composition is splendid.
I don't want it, I just need it...to breath ...to feel ...to know I'm alive.

first and third are cool, but wish you would have used a polarizer on the first shot instead of relying on PS because you can see around the edges of the trees where the burning/editing was done.

    Thanks for the comments.

Brent, I too would have liked to have used a polarizer, but I don't have one for my wide angle lens. The halos came from the Shadow/Highlight tool in PS and I was trying to salvage some light on the sides. Instead, I tried going for a tighter crop to see how it looks. How does this compare?

    Thanks,

Decent captures and great color. I like the new post you made of the pool, it gets to the pt better. There might be too much color here, esp blue - not sure though, as the water's supposed to be blue.

I like the swiming photos especially the last two. These are definate keepers and print.

The first is to busy and no centre of focus at this size but at A3+ it probably could work because then you'd see the swimmers on the blocks clearly , I'm making the assumption they are on the blocks, can't see at this size.

PC, the only thing I'd like to say is, you did a heckuva job for the first attempt at a swimming meet.
