    Sushi for one

Took a trip to the Everglades yesterday morning and among other things came across this Osprey taking his lunch break

The stare on his face is captivating and really intense. There's a stick on the upper left that's bugging me and that keeps drawing my attention towards it. I'm not sure about the dof here, i'm divided. not sure whether the soft branches make the eye focus on the bird more or distract. i'd have to see it sharper to decide. I like the composition and leaving plenty of space on the right. I wonder how this one would look like b&w. good catch still.

Jet - I like your shot here, good catch (for you as well as him). As far as the photo overall, I think it has too much negative space on the right side, which makes it seem incomplete. I played around with an edit, not sure if it's better .?

    Re: Sushi for one

Thanks guys! GB your crop works better for sure and I hadn't considered vignetting it. Although I think what you posted is a touch heavy, I like the effect and I think I might just go with it, toned down a bit. I have about 20 shots of this guy, but the nest provided real difficulties because I couldn't manuver to a position where it wasn't in the way (needed to bring an 8' ladder with me )

This was really an amazing day. I spent about 2 1/2 hours walking/shooting, and if anyone is interested there are a bunch of other shots from the morning in this thread in the Nature & Wildlife forum
