Poor guy. Good shots, very sharp images, esp # 2. I've never been much of a bug photo fan, but these are very well done. -GB

    GB,

Thanks very much. As strange as this sounds given the shots I have posted of late, i.e., butterflies, bees, spiders, I really am not a bug person AT ALL. But, I spotted this on a bush in the back yard and couldn't pass it up.

Thanks for the comments just the same.

    Romelm,

Thanks for the comments. I actually really am uncomfortable with bugs, but this was a scene I couldn't pass.

    Thanks,

    Well done CF
I don't enjoy looking at these chaps but I enjoy looking at a good photograph and you have presented us with an excellent close up to fascinate us.

Great shots!!! and I love taking pictures of bugs..
If I may ask..What equipment did you use to take those shots?
I am learning Macro photography right now, so I will gobble up as much info as I can...

    jgredline/Grumpy:

Thanks so much for the very kind words. It means alot to me. The equipment: camera is the Canon XTi, which I really enjoy. I have had it for a year and really enjoy the size, weight, and terrific shots it produces. The lens is the Tamron 28-300 Di. I was approx., 18" from the bugs and zoomed in.

    Hope that helps.

The photo in and of itself is a beautiful thing. It's crisp, vibrant and interesting. However, once I realized that those hairy legs belonged to a spider, I had to quickly scroll by. Hey, they say the best photographs are the ones which invoke a feeling in the viewer, right? You are a more dedicated photographer than I could ever be. I would have reached for the Raid instead of my camera here. :P

    Henry,

I am no fan of bugs, not in the least. I keep a can of Black Flag on the patio for the first sign of anything that crawls. But, I saw this on a bush in yard and couldn't pass it by. Thanks for the kind words.
